The Sault Ste. Marie YMCA is honoured to have been recognized by the YNCU Good Neighbors Program with a $1,000 donation to our Strong Communities Fund, which will be used to support our Child Care programs.
Every year, YNCU employees roll up their sleeves and volunteer hundreds of hours of their time to local organizations. When a YNCU member donates 4+ hours of their time to an organization, the YNCU Good Neighbours program donates $150 to the employee’s charity. This enables YNCU to recognize employees’ contributions, while furthering their impact through the donation.
Each year, YNCU also sets aside a select amount of money that staff can request be donated to a local charity of their choosing. YNCU leaders choose a number of charities out of those nominated to receive a $1000 donation. This year as a result of YNCU team member Mandy Storkson’s nomination, The Sault Ste. Marie YMCA was been selected as a recipient of one of these donations.
