Personal Training at the YMCA offers one on one workouts, with a Certified Personal Trainer, geared to your individual needs or wants, fitness level and activity preferences.  You set your fitness and health goals and your Personal Trainer will help you achieve them!

Small Group Training

Receive one on one training with the benefits of being with others.  Share a trainer with your family, friends or teammates.  A group may consist of 2-4 people.

Specialization and interests:

Most of my experience is based around helping those who are new to the gym become more comfortable and informed. I also specialize in sports-based training for both Football and Soccer.

Certifications/Credentials: CanfitPro Certified trainer with over 3 years of experience with all different levels of fitness

Philosophy: I believe that one of the most important things you can do in life is to keep your body moving and to take care of your body properly. We have different starting spots and journeys along the way, but you’ll be amazed at how much progress you can make and just how far your body can take you.

Availability: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

Specialization/Interests: Helping a variety of clients, especially the mature adult crowd develop a fun approach to a healthier lifestyle through functional fitness training.  Using high energy, positive attitude, and laughter to focus on improving strength, balance, agility, and mobility.

Certification/Credentials:  Graduated with honors from the Humber College Fitness and Leadership program in Toronto.  With over 25 years experience in the field of fitness including One-on-One Training, Bosu Integrated Balance Training, Bootcamp, and Facilitated Stretching.

Philosophy: Motivate and educate to workout smarter rather than harder and it’s not how much weight you move but how you move it.

Training Availability: Generally available mornings and early afternoons.

Specialization and interests: Strength & Flexibility Training, Nutrition

Certifications: Personal Trainer Specialist through Can Fit Canada, Children’s Fitness Coach, Stress Resiliency, Active Aging.

Philosophy: Fitness, Health and Nutrition are significant parts in my life. I enjoy teaching and educating people about the importance of staying fit and healthy. Implementing even the smallest step to a healthier lifestyle is a step in the right direction.

Training Availability: Anytime during YMCA Operating hours

Specialization and Interest: I specialize in Personal Training, as well as athletic specialty training. My interests include Sports, mainly hockey, golf and soccer, fishing, skiing and hunting.

Certifications:

Ontario Fitness Council Certified Personal Trainer
Heart and Stroke First Aid and CPR Level C
Fitness and Health Promotion Graduate
OTA/PTA anticipated graduate

Philosophy: Apply hard work with a strategic and effective plan that is personalized to each and every client.

Availability: Afternoon and evening sessions

Specialization and interests: – Body composition and Hypertrophy. Modifications of the workout according to the Client.

Certifications: – OFC (Ontario Fitness Council) certified.

Philosophy: – My philosophy towards personal training is to focus on the goals  individually along with providing the support to the client. Approaching a balanced workout-diet plan.

Training Availability: Tuesday and Friday, 6pm-9pm; Saturday, Anytime.

Specializations/Interests: include but are not limited to: Resistance Training/ Weightlifting, Core Conditioning, Balance and Flexibility Training, Recovery Training for sports injuries, Training both Pre and Post Natal women 

Certifications/Credentials: Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion, Certified Registered Health and Practitioner in Group Exercise, Resistance Training and Personal Training through Ontario Fitness Council

Trainer Philosophy: I believe that physical activity is the foundation of good health. I want to focus on educating my clients in ways that can support their goals and needs. I am friendly and focused. I enjoy laughing with my clients while also providing them with a thorough exercise experience. I want my clients to know that it’s about them and their needs. I want them to feel seen, heard and respected. I will be understanding when they are having a hard day and equally support them on good days. I believe in evidence-based exercise. I value my education and continued learning. It’s important to me that I have knowledge and experience with new equipment or techniques before engaging in them with a client.

Training Availability: Dependant on other job schedules, but definitely flexible with advance notice of your availability!

Specialization and interests: Experienced as a Strength, Hypertrophy, Athletic and Powerlifting trainer. Excellent with Beginners and Weight loss as well. I’m a Pro U105kg Strongman, winner of Canada Nationals in 2022 and have competed internationally in competitions such as “The Arnold Classic: Strongman” 

Certifications/Credentials: Canfit Pro trainer for 6 years, Pre and Post natal training, OTA/PTA graduate 2024

Philosophy: I believe that having knowledge in Weight training and Cardio is invaluable to living a long and healthy life. Exercise should be easily accessed and available for everyone to support longevity! As always… Train harder than last time!

Training availability: Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays after 5; Fridays and weekends, anytime
