Province Lifts Proof of Vaccination Requirement as of March 1

The government of Ontario announced the passing of legislation that lifts the province’s proof of vaccination requirements as of March 1. The Sault Ste. Marie YMCA will follow the guidance of local health authorities and the provincial government, and remove proof of vaccination requirements on March 1. This will apply to our Health, Fitness & Aquatics facilities, as well as any of our community programs.
Per the Government of Ontario’s public health and workplace safety measures, mask/face covering requirements remain in place.
The health, safety, and well-being of our community, staff, and volunteers is always our top priority. We continue to meet or exceed all public health guidelines, including enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocols, monitoring capacity and modifying spaces to promote physical distancing, and requiring masks to be worn in our facilities at all times except when performing a physical activity. Participants are still required to self-screen for symptoms of COVID-19 before entering our facilities, as per health unit guidelines. Please help us maintain a safe and healthy environment by staying home if you feel unwell.
