We want to thank everyone for their incredible show of support.
Over the past 8 months, the SSM YMCA’s board of directors and YMCA leadership, with the support of Y Canada and Y Ontario, have worked tirelessly to find alternatives that would allow our local YMCA to continue to serve our members and the community.
On Monday, April 29th, the YMCA board of directors met and approved exploring an option that it hopes will lead to a continuance of services. It will take some time to get through the various due diligence processes to ensure that the option is viable and offers a solution that will help ensure the Y’s continued sustainability.
We cannot confirm a timeline for this process at this point, but we commit to providing updates as they become available.
Thank you to everyone that that has shared ideas, shared their individual Y stories, reminding everyone of the important role that the YMCA has played in our community for more than 100 years.
