The Sault Ste. Marie YMCA is excited to announce the return of YBC Youth Basketball in partnership with The Elite 8 Basketball Academy
The Elite 8 Basketball Academy was built to bridge the gaps in basketball programming across our city – and no gap was bigger than the one left by the YBC. That’s why we’re stepping up! With a passionate team of coaches and mentors, we’re ready to bring the energy, the skills, and the community back to the court. And now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for… YBC is back!
While participating in the YBC, your child will learn basketball and life skills through drills and league play in a FUN, SAFE and INCLUSIVE environment.
Each age category will be broken up into four teams and will start each session with skills development, before playing their scheduled games. Players will stay with their teams and coaches throughout the entire program.
Standings will be kept and a champion crowned!
**This 8-week program will include a Nike YBC Reversible Jersey and a Nike Basketball!**
AGE GROUPS and TIMES:
- 6 to 7 years, Saturdays 9:00am-10:15am, May 17 to July 5
- 8 to 9 years, Saturdays 10:30am-11:45am, May 17 to July 5
- 10 to 11 years, Saturdays 12:00pm-1:30pm, May 17 to July 5
- 12 to 13 years Saturdays 1:30pm to 3:00pm, May 17 to July 5
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: April 30th (You can still register after the deadline if there is space available.)
FEES: Cost of the program is $60.00 for YMCA members and $120.00 for non-members. IMPORTANT: If your family is struggling financially, please reach out to us at elite8basketballacademy@gmail.com and we will figure out a way for your child to participate. There will never be a situation where a child does not participate due to registration cost.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- All communication will be through the WhatsApp communication texting app. Please download the app.
- If we need to cancel a session, we will notify you no later than 1 day before. Any cancelled sessions will extend the programming 1 week to ensure all sessions are completed
- Every athlete must bring their own water bottle

- Complete the PDF YMCA Registration Form (this form contains required information not included in the online sign-up) and return it to the YMCA as early as possible.
- Complete the PDF YBC Waiver and Release of Liability form and and return it to the YMCA as early as possible.
